Vienna – A Freeware feature-packed RSS newsreader

January 16, 2006

This is one of the most incredible applications I’ve ever come across for some time. Vienna is so great, because it is so similar to Mail. You simply subscribe to RSS feeds, then will update from time to time, and display the number of unread articles on the dock icon just like Mail. Vienna also includes Smart Folders, searching, flagging, and images. Vienna makes it so easy to subscribe, view, and search through RSS feeds. Vienna displays the title of the articles, and you select it to view the RSS article. Then, you double-click the article to view it as a web-browser. Vienna has tabbed browsing, so you can easily navigate between different articles that you have chosen. I am really impressed with Vienna, it seems to include many features that I have been needing, and this will definitely replace Safari for RSS. I totally recommend this application to every Mac user. And best of all, it’s freeware!
