Apple has recently seeded an update to its beta-testing developers, with codenames 9A527 and 9A528A. Developers are claiming the OS is close to receiving final candidate status. The update features greatly improved performance and stability, as well as a surprising number of UI tweaks.
Developers are also noticing some of the UI tweaks Apple has made to Leopard since the previous version. In seed 9A528a, Mac OS X now sports a space theme in Leopard. A few developers have already leaked some of the new UI elements, including Leopard’s new welcome video and the new default desktop wallpaper that complements Time Machine’s sci-fi theme. The new translucent menu bar is now less transparent by default and the dock is also receiving a few minor tweaks. It also seems the window action buttons (close, minimize, and expand) are now vector-based.
