Apple gets more attention from media

October 17, 2005

As you might have already picked up, Apple and Steve have been getting a lot of attention recently. Steve has been featured in Time magazine and also CNBC (which is a coincidence, since CNBC’s website is hosted by Microsoft’s MSN). But, I couldn’t find any detail of the report on the website. The media has been focusing on Apple, because of their recent release of the nano and the new fifth generation iPod.
TIME magazine has also written a cover story on Apple and because of its new innovations, like the fifth generation iPod. I think that Apple has definately made it big time, since I don’t go through a day without seeing or hearing about an iPod.
I think that the iPod’s market share will not decrease soon, but some time Apple will slowly begin to lose to companies like Microsoft, who can control any joe-shmoe into buying other MP3 players that are compatible with Media Player. Unless Apple stays on top of the market, and keeps innovating. I think the PSP could be a possible threat one day, but I think Sony needs to work on their way for people to get media easily. It is just the fact that Apple is an USA company, it makes it easy for Apple to understand our culture. I just hope that Apple stays on top of the market, and I think it will be a while before they lose market share.
