iTunes 7.0.1 to fix many of the bugs in iTunes 7

September 20, 2006

iTunes 7iTunes 7 users are complaining to Apple about the new issues and bugs in iTunes 7. Threads on Apple’s Discussion forums have shown how the new iTunes 7 has many new issues including frequent crashing, poor audio playback, and some minor issues with the new iTunes 7 GUI. The noticeable cause of all this seems to be the new gapless playback technology and the new user interface. Windows users are also complaining of the new iTunes installer which installs aliases to the desktop and the Start menu on each launch of the software, even if the user previously removed or moved the alias elsewhere.

Apple has published new iTunes support documents addressing issues and bugs with iTunes 7. Apple says they are well aware of the bugs and are busy working on the 7.0.1 update, which will be released soon.

Where’s the quick access EQ button??

In Itunes 6 at the bottom there was a quick access to the EQ window. It was so convinient whenever i wanted to change bass or trebble levels quickly. Now I have to go to view and show equalizer. And there’s not even a keyboard shortcut!!! And i can’t say much for the new user interface either. I hope this isn’t the end to aqua. : (

A small FYI: Your article: September 20th, 2006, “Tunes 7.0.1 to fix many of the bugs in iTunes 7” – Published by Mason in News, iPod iTunes, Updates
has a typo/grammar flaw: “Apple has published new iTunes support documents address issues and bugs with iTunes 7” – should be “addressing” or “to address.”

I hope this is not received as an quibbling annoyance, rather a benign helpful pointer.

Sheesh. That typo entry was meant as a non-pubished note to the editor, not a damn forum conversation piece. Guess I should be more cafeful when filling out an Internet form. And always use an alias name!

And of course, in “I hope this is not received as an quibbling annoyance, rather a benign helpful pointer.” should be “a quibbling annoyance”.

    MASON –

    You said…

“There you can chose which application (iTunes) and type in Show Equalizer for the Menu Title. For the shortcut I would would put something like, control ‘e’.”

Thanks for the tip! Glad to have the Equalizer back!
