Front Row and Photo Booth out in the wild

October 27, 2005

Front Row and Photo Booth have both been hacked, and Front Row now works without the remote.

Today, I have successfully downloaded both Photo Booth and Front Row. I am very happy to have these great apps, and I really enjoy them.

Let me give you a little review of each app:

Photo Booth: Photo Booth seems to work just fine, I use my DV camcorder as the camera. It seems slower than it is at the Apple Store with the new iMacs, but it might be due to the fact that I’m using my DV camera as an external camera. I really enjoy the effects, but I really don’t know if I’ll ever really use Photo Booth.

Front Row: Front Row is great. Its “Apple style” makes it so enjoyable to use, with its great transitions and sound effects. With my version of Front Row, it is unable to play DVD’s in Front Row, and it sometimes crashes.

Let me say, that this really is illegal. But, Apple should have thought ahead and expected this would happen. I think Apple has no choice to sell Front Row off of the shelves, or else they are not getting potential money. I certainly will purchase Front Row when Apple releases it in boxes, and I encourage others to do so, because the software you downloaded is an illegal copy.
