The Shiira browser is another alternative for Safari and Firefox, and has really cool features that Safari and Firefox do not have.
The Shiira Project describes their browser:
Shiira is a web browser based on Web Kit and written in Cocoa. The goal of the Shiira Project is to create a browser that is better and more useful than Safari. All source code used in this software is publicly available.
I find this browser has a lot of cool features not included in Safari, like great themes and the ability to change User Agents. You can also use bookmarks from Safari and Firefox, in real time. There is another great feature, Tab Exposé, which is much like Exposé for Mac OS X, but for all web tabs.
One thing that disappoints me, is that the word editing in Shiira is much like Safari, where it doesn’t support rich text options, like bold, italics, underline, and color. I really wish someone besides Mozilla and Microsoft will support rich text editing, because I am getting sick of not being able to use those options that other users can use.
I love Shiira, it has a great interface, and has really cool features not available in other browsers. I wish it had RSS compatibility and rich text editing, but that could be available in future versions. Until then, I think I’ll stick with Safari.
